ART | And The ABSURD
SELLING FOR $70,000
Hobbyist and full-time artists are in an argument pool about how paintings are judged. Of course, the price of art dangles along with it.
Are we suppose to judge art and find a price that will not make us think or say the word "ridiculous"?
Are we like trees just pliable to how the wind blows... like oh, he is famous and rich ... I will like his art even others think a kinder can draw and paint better?
Are we just going to be a bystander... letting other people strike each other with pointy remarks?
When I saw Jean-Michel Basquiat painting sold for more than a million, I was like ... geez! I don't even know this guy, never heard of him. BUT.... one of his paintings caught my attention.
Though most of his paintings look like a nursery scribble to me, there's one thing he is expressing here.
"I don’t listen to what art critics say. I don’t know anybody who needs a critic to find out what art is."
That made him silly rich!
